Following the announcement by the UK Government yesterday, the school will be closed from tomorrow (Friday 20th March 2020) at 3.15pm.
It has been announced that the school will provide provision for the children of key workers, and vulnerable children from Monday 23rd March 2020 as part of the country’s response to the Coronavirus.
- The school is currently contacting parents of children who have a social worker or those with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans in order to determine whether are they are going to access the provision offered from next week.
- A full list of key worker categories will be published today, Thursday 19th March, and parents should check their eligibility. Eligible families should contact the school via email or telephone, and advise whether they will be accessing the service from next week.
The Secretary of State also announced that schools may stay open to extend this service through the Easter holidays. The school will liaise with parents in order to determine whether there is demand for this service.
The school is assessing how to support families whose children are eligible for free school meals ahead of the implementation of the national voucher system that was announced yesterday.
The school has provided the children with enough work and activities for four weeks, and will continue to add additional activities for the duration of the closure. We have also put additional links to resources on the school’s website.
Parents should continue to visit the school’s website which will be updated with news and information. The school will also issue communications via email directly to parents. Parents may also contact the school via the main office email (firstname.lastname@example.org) which will be monitored daily throughout the closure period.
