Reading Masters

Reading Masters is a programme that we use at Vauxhall Primary for the teaching of reading comprehension. The programme was written by Vauxhall Primary teachers for our pupils, and has now been sold to schools across the UK and abroad.

If your child is in Year 2 to Year 6 and has completed the Phonics programme, they will be very familiar with the way Reading Masters works, but we have included instructions for parents.

As part of the online Home Learning, your child’s teacher will provide a text and a set of questions each week, together these form the Reading Masters programme. The questions should not be completed all in one go, so we have set out how they should be timetabled below.

If you would like your child’s Reading Masters work marked. Please email it to their class email and allow 3 days for the class teacher to get back to you.

It is essential that your child is reading every day; by themselves or to an adult. Although the Reading Masters programme allows them to practice their comprehension skills, we want to also foster a love of enjoying a book!

A library of online books can be found on the Oxford Owl website. Please click on this link and register to access free books. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

 Happy Reading!!!!!
