Raising Achievement

At Vauxhall Primary School, we take our responsibility seriously, not only to raise achievement for all our pupils, but to actively tackle educational inequality within our community.

We recognise that creating an equitable learning environment requires action across multiple areas: ensuring our school leaders and staff body reflect the diversity of our community; implementing robust strategies to challenge racism and discrimination; and addressing the barriers that prevent some children from reaching their full potential.

This commitment underpins everything we do as a school and is reflected in our policies, our curriculum, and our daily practice.

As part of our work with the Lambeth School Partnership (LSP), Vauxhall Primary School has proudly committed to the 'Raising the Game' initiative.

LSP's Raising the Game: Black Caribbean Education Achievement is a borough-wide initiative that addresses the persistent educational inequalities facing Black Caribbean pupils in Lambeth. The programme specifically tackles:

  • The 7-10% academic attainment gap between Black Caribbean pupils and their peers
  • The disproportionately high exclusion rates affecting Black Caribbean pupils

Through this partnership, we are working collaboratively with other schools across the borough to implement evidence-based strategies that will improve outcomes for our Black Caribbean pupils and create a more equitable learning environment for all.

Our Raising The Game Champions are:

 Mrs Darteh               Miss Edwin
